Meet Jackie Bensinger, San Diego Acupuncturist and Herbalist
A native of the Smokey Mountains region, Jackie Bensinger, L.Ac., has been providing patient centered healthcare in the tradition of Chinese Medicine at her San Diego based Vibrational Healing Arts clinic since 1995. On a daily basis, she witnesses the benefits of natural medicine and stress-relieving, self-healing energy practices such as meditation and Qi Gong (also spelled Chi Gong and Qigong) in the treatment of all types of physical, mental and emotional imbalances.
A practitioner of the specialized "Balance Method" of Acupuncture
After earning her diploma from the American Institute of Oriental Medicine, Jackie embarked on an eight-year, post-graduate apprenticeship in acupuncture, Chinese herbs, Qi Gong, Feng Shui and Chinese Philosophy under Dr. Richard T. Tan, O.M.D., L.Ac., who taught her a unique and effective approach to acupuncture, called "The Balance Method." Combining ancient acupuncture theory with the use of mirroring and holographic point locations and strategies, the Balance Method of acupuncture is a specialized, distal point therapy for both pain relief and the treatment of internal disorders. Jackie's post-graduate training laid the groundwork for her further exploration of this evolving technique. To meet the varied needs of her diverse clients, she has devised treatment refinements and modifications that have proven extremely beneficial for those suffering from such difficult conditions as pre-Parkinson’s disease, Shingles and Bell's palsy. The Balance Method of acupuncture focuses on acupuncture points located primarily on the limbs, ears, and head. Because it produces excellent results using fewer points per treatment than other acupuncture styles, those who are particularly squeamish about needles tend to prefer it.
A Compassionate Energy Medicine Healer, Teacher and Speaker
Outside the work she does at her busy Vibrational Healing Arts clinic, Jackie teaches Feng Shui and Qi Gong classes in San Diego and other cities across the country. Additionally, she has worked with patients from the Kaiser Permanente Pain Clinic. Recognized as an energy medicine expert, she has appeared on San Diego's KUSI morning show and other local broadcasts. She also produced and hosted "Pathways to Vitality," a call-in radio show on San Diego's KSDO.
The editor of an acupuncture textbook, she is currently authoring her first book, which will educate parents on how to teach children safe and effective, natural healing and calming techniques. Prior to receiving her diploma from the American Institute of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, Jackie earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Emory and Henry College and secured two years toward a Master of Arts degree at the University of South Carolina.
